WHERE WE STAND …

n      We support industrial development of the 1,527-acre former Crows Landing Naval air facility, believing it will provide thousands of needed jobs in Stanislaus County.

n      We support additional industrial growth in the county being directed to the over 5,000 acres of land currently available within the boundaries of Stanislaus County cities.

n      We oppose expansion of the Crows Landing development to beyond the 1527 acres.

REASONS: The “eating up” of prime agricultural land, the impact of pollution caused by truck and auto traffic, the massive infrastructure costs of roadways, and the speculative nature of the project being proposed.

n      We oppose development of the Crows Landing site as a major train terminal, believing that such an intermodal facility would be best served in San Joaquin County. REASONS: Its impact on the West Side and the questionable fiscal nature of the proposed project.
