To WS-PACE.org members:

As you already know, Gerry Kamilos’ West Park project for the Crows Landing air facility was recently given a further go-ahead by our Board of Supervisors.

However, the approval to move ahead was not a binding contract, but a Memorandum Of Understanding to proceed with the preparation (by the developer) of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR), a process that is expected to take 18 to 24 months. Various public agencies will review those findings, and the public including our organization will have opportunity for comment before action again must be taken by the Board of Supervisors.

WS-PACE.org is not giving up the battle. We feel even more strongly that the detrimental effects of the proposed project far outweigh the benefits, not only for the West Side but the entire Central Valley.

WE PLAN TO KEEP ALL OPTIONS OPEN in the months ahead. We will continue to grow in membership, and your officers will continue to meet on a regular basis to plan strategy and take needed action.

In the weeks ahead you will receive notice of our first membership meeting of the year. We feel compelled to keep you informed and to represent your interests in opposition to this humongous project.

Should you be in need of membership forms for friends, neighbors or relatives, regardless of address, please call me at 892-6355 and I will get the forms to you.  They are also available on our website.

Thank you for supporting WS-PACE.org.
